The police medical servicebegan in 1898 when the government converted a hospital for prostitutes behind Wat Phlapphla Chai, built in 1897, into a police hospital for patrol officers to treat sick police officers.

Missing Person Identification and Trace Center
The Missing Persons Identification and Tracking Center,Institute of Forensic Medicine Police General Hospital is responsible for identifying unidentified bodies using various evidence, such as fingerprints, dental records, DNA, and physical evidence, to compare with the missing persons' relatives' reports.
The center'sThe center's main duties are to receive unidentified bodies, collect missing persons information, conduct personal identification, report identification results, and support investigators.
